How are Roll-A-Sign™ banners printed?
Roll-A-Sign banners are printed using Flexographic printing process, which is a press printing process similar to the old-style newspaper press printing. To be more specific, it’s like printing with a big rubber stamp. The ink is applied to the raised surfaces of a polypropylene printing plate and pressed onto the surface of the plate to produce the image to the material. Shifting can occur on registration up to approximately 1/8 of an inch.
However, Flexographic printing does not allow for a continuous print. Because the way plates mount on the cylinder, a gap must be present between the end of one print and the beginning of the next when printing a background color. This is commonly called the "break" or "gap." The way to create a continuous print effect between roll banners is by using what is called a "bump plate." This plate will allow for the break or gap fill on the rolls by using a solid color BUMP plate that is wider than the actual break between images.
How long does the process take to produce Roll-A-Sign™?
On new orders, the standard lead time for production is approximately 2 – 2 1/2 weeks. Many times signs can be finished faster for those important event deadlines. Call for details.
